Hello
Hello there!
My name is Louis, I am a genderfluid artist and performer living in New Hampshire. I do everything from painting to graphic design and enjoy living an eclectic and funky life with my boyfriend and 3 cats.
I am mostly inspired by things related to the circus, my life and expression as an LGBT person, and the trauma that I have gone through. Although not one of these things is me in its entirety, they all shine through in each piece.
Why Clowns?
There is so much specificity about how I relate to clowns, gender-wise. Hear me out.
From a young age, I wasn't very comfortable in my skin. I came out as trans-masculine in middle school. it was just one of those things I knew. Now I identify as more fluid, in a space between male and female rather than one or the other. Clown garb and hiding your face behind a persona gives you a certain amount of freedom to explore that.
I get to pretend I'm not me for just a split moment. I get to wrap myself in a swath of different patterns, gleefully painting my face in a way that's more reminiscent of art than a face. I get to be something that makes people happy.
Lacy is my Persona. My colors are black and white and I tend to lean more toward a mime-y aesthetic. Clowns bring me a lot of comfort and are a blatantly obvious occurrence in my work.
What else is there to say?
Generally speaking, I am an eclectic artist who is really hoping for a way to live off of their art. Right now I generally do commissions and have a full-time job. The goal is to have a calendar up with events by next summer!

For now, I will be setting up an Etsy to sell original works and doing commissions!
